A Beach of Love

The tide gently caresses the beach with each wave, smoothing the sand with every wave. The sun arcing down to rest, no longer a blinding ball of light but a circle of warmth. A bright orange sphere encircled with a halo of red as it is set to rest with a blanket of indigos and violets. The breeze lazily blowing by just as tired from whizzing across. The ocean glittered from the colours of the setting sun, reflecting back like a mirror.
Others stroll across the beach, with fingers intertwined into each other. Others lay about on top of blankets, arms around each other. Others are simply to themselves enjoying the peace. Others dance as small groups play with instruments and sing. The mood feels sweeter, with the loving looks, tender touches and the passionate embraces the people share on the beach. Smiles all around of all types, each radiating one emotion, love.

A couple walks by as the ocean tickles at their ankles. As close as one can be to another person, both with an arm around each other’s waists, in step to each other. Gently whispering, smiling as their eyes just lost in each other’s gaze. Simply in a blissful state around one another.
Another couple lays on the beach, on their sides conversing, hugging closer together as the wind packs them together inch by inch. Smiling, giggling, but they slowly stop as if noticing something. They stare in wonder at each other, as close as can be to feel their heartbeats, to see the sparkle of their eyes and the way their lips move. They bring themselves closer, legs entwined, holding each other as intimately as can be. For that is when their eyes close and lips meet. Fingers brushing back hair and stroking the skin, as they move towards each other, unable to part, not wanting to separate. They love as if it were their first and last.
One group surrounds a campfire, dancing, laughing, singing and just enjoying the company. They drink and joke around. The music loud and joyous, some simply watch, listen and grin with the rest, happy to be among their own. Others are entranced by stories as one dramatically acts out a tale with wrapped attention. Others sit and sway to the song, while a few dances mesmerised and possessed by the sound. Cheers ring out, glasses cling and the music roars. Joy among friends, surrounded by a love that is as warm and as kind as the fire they surround.
Then there is just the one. Silent, as they walk across or sit at the beach. However, they are at peace. Skip to their step, a hum to their voice and that sigh of relief. Of all their worries just washed away, no longer weighed down by a heavy burden and simply allowed to be themselves. Comfortable in their own space, happy by the atmosphere around them and just finally at peace within the moment. They are as tranquil as the very waves that land and as peaceful as the resting sun.
The sun disappears and the night comes. The stars twinkling across the expanse of the black sky. The moon like a holy goddess shines at the very centre of it all, her pale light dazzles the ocean. The ocean becomes almost as one as the brilliant night sky, hard to tell where both meet and end. The beach becomes serene, as couples whisper and kiss, as groups party passionately and the recluse simply rests with a cheery smile. As the world is in love, with the waves stroking the sand like a gentle hand caressing a lover’s cheek.
